BLACK – Performance Springs. Complete set of four.
These
springs feature our carefully selected non-progressive spring rates,
which revolutionize the handling of your 124 or 2000 Spider or Coupe.
They make the car much more balanced and controllable in all driving
conditions, without sacrificing the comfort you expect from a finely
tuned performance road car.
Out of
the box, these springs provide a 1" drop below stock ride height (see
below). However, to achieve your desired ride height, you can easily
trim the springs with a rotary cut-off tool or hacksaw.
Fits all 124; 2000; Pininfarina Spiders and Coupes 1968 through 1985.
springs are however made for the "tube bumper" cars being from 1974-85.
If you have an earlier car (1968-74) you will need to remove some of
the spring to accommodate for the weight difference. This also applies to all cars that no longer have the "tube bumpers".
Note:
It can take 1-2 weeks for the suspension to resettle after these have
been installed, and during this time your car may ride higher than
normal. Your car is 25+ years old and has unknown suspension parts of
unknown ages and wear. You may need to cut a coil from the spring to
achieve YOUR desired ride height.
***Also, if you are using modern positive
charged gas shocks (KYB, Monroe, etc) this will change your ride height
to higher than original. You may want to remove a portion of a coil from
the rear springs. If you are using KONI shocks your ride height should
be perfect as these shocks do not utilize positively charged gas.***
