Front left means drivers side in USA?

Hello,
Yes. This is a universal designation in the automotive world.
The side of the car is determined while seated in the car and looking forward.
Example 1: Left in the US is the Driver's side.
Example 2: Hood up standing in front of a car. Now your left is on the passenger's side HOWEVER that side of the car is STILL called RIGHT side, because you are not in the car so you can no longer side it.
In either case the left stays the left (ie- The US spec Driver's side).
